Snake guard rings.
Snake Guard Rings / vegetable Rings
Ingredients:
- Snake guard 1 pc
- Besan flour/ Gram flour -1/2 cup
- Rice flour/ corn flour 1/2 cup
- Red chilli powder
- Turmeric powder
- Salt
- Ajwain/Jeera(optional)
- Bread crumbs (optional)
- Oil for deep frying
- Baking powder 1 tsp
Directions:
Slice the snack guard like this⬆️.The pieces should not be very thin..
Remove the seeds nicely without breaking the rings.
In a large mixing bowl add gram flour,rice flour, baking powder, red chilli powder, turmeric powder,salt,Jeera powder / ajwainAdd some water and mix everything well together..batter should be thick
Add the rings and keep aside for 10 minutes.
Heat up the oil for deep frying and add one ring to check the hottnes level.If it comes up immediately then it's fine.
Take some rings and deep fry it 2 minutes each side.
When one side looks harder flip over the rings and allow to cook.
Crispy snake guard rings is ready now๐

Carrot fingers using same masala batter. |
Cocinia fry using same batter. |
- Don't add too much corn flour, it makes the rings harder..and rice flour,corn flour,gram flour.
- If your batter is watery then rings will not become crispier.
- Baking powder helps the rings crispier for longer time.
- You can sprinkle chaat masala before serving.
- You can make the same with other vegetables also like cocinia/ carrot etc.
