Masala Vada/ Paruppu Vada/ Aama Vada
Masala Vada/ Parupu Vada/ Aama Vada
Ingredients:
- Channa Dal - 2 cups
- Urad Dal - 4 spoonful
- Saunf - 2 spoonful
- Red chilli powder(optional)
- Turmeric powder
- Garam masala
- Red chilli - 5-6 no's
- Onion -1( optional)
- Salt
- Oil for deep frying
- Hing - 1 pinch( optional)
Directions:
The Dal soaked well and raised by amount
Transfer it to the mixer and add saunf in it.. you can add cinnamon stick and clove along with it (optional)
Sprinkle some water and grind coarsely.
Add chopped mint and curry leaves
Add Red chilli powder, turmeric powder,salt,garam masala,ginger finely chopped. If you have not added clove and cinnamon before now you can add garam masala.
Mix well everything together.
Add finely chopped onions
Add some corn flour or rice flour. It will bring your Vada crispy.
Heat up oil for deep frying
Once the oil is hot enough, take small portion of batter and press nicely like a Vada..
Drop your Vada into oil
When one side of Vada getting hard you can flip over
Cook the Vada each side for 2 mins.
Finally Vada is ready๐ Serve the Vada during tea time.
Note:
- You can add green chillies finely chopped along with onions.
- Your batter should not be too thick then your Vada will be hard.
- You can skip onion and hing. Make sure if you skip onion, your batter should not be thick and don't add corn flour too much.
