Jeera rice
Ingredients:
Rice of your choice
(I've used Sona masuri steam rice)
Jeera 3 tsp
Jeera powder 2 tsp
Salt
Corriander leaves (optional)
Ghee/oil 4 tsp.
Directions:
Heat up pressure cooker and pour some ghee/oilAdd Jeera and saute
Once Jeera crackled add rice and fry it in a high flame
Fry for 2-3 minutes untill the rice changes it Colour and doubles the amount
Rice colour changed and the amount of rice looks increased
For one cup of steam rice add 3 cups of water and 1 tsp salt
Add some corriander leaves
Add 2-3 tsp Jeera powder and pressure cook it for 2 whistles in high flame and 3 minutes simmer it.
Once it releases pressure, can open the lid and stir the rice
Jeera rice is ready๐
Serve it with the gravy of your choice.it goes well with channa masala, Dal makhani,tadka dal, rogan Josh etc.. I served it with white peas kurma.
Note:
1. If you are using Jeera samba rice 1:3, for one cup rice 3 cups water.
For basmati rice 1:2
2.If you are making for simple dal, you can add very little garam masala along with salt.
